Institutions and platforms
In MAP Norway we work with institutions and platforms to link the local with the territorial and, in some cases, with the regional. This effort connects what we do with the families and their organizations with decision makers, and vice versa, for a better alignment of agendas and for successful integration of business organizations with sustainable value chains. We work with two types of organizations and platforms in the project.
Business organizations and value chains
Our actions are directed toward the business and socio-organizational strengthening of 30 business organizations (15 in each key territory), seeking to create capabilities to strategically orient their business, efficiently administer resources and promote equity within their organization. To accomplish this we develop Territorial Business Training Schools (EFETs, acronym in Spanish) and provide specialized follow-up through Business Technical Assistance (BTA).
We provide opportunities for making strategic alliances among direct and indirect actors in seven value chains prioritized by the project (cocoa, coffee, vegetables, corn, beans and dairy and forest products), in which the business organizations participate. We also help with development of a strategy to strengthen each value chain in order to strengthen and promote creation of round tables or platforms that contribute to the growth of the sector.
